Tom Hiddleston has signed up to present a CBeebies Bedtime Story, reading children's story Supertato on Friday 25th June. CBeebies announced the exciting news that Loki himself will be reading on this week's episode Bedtime Stories, appearing on Friday 25th June at 6:50pm, then on BBC iPlayer.

Revealing the news on their Facebook page, CBeebies shared an image of Tom and wrote: 'Look out for #Loki! 👀 It's time for Tom Hiddleston ⏰ Fri 25th June, 6:50pm then on BBC iPlayer 🙌 #CBeebiesBedtimeStories' (sic).

Over the moon at the announcement, fans flew to the comments section to share the excitement, with one writing: 'My daughter LOVES, Loki - the god of mischief! I’ll be taping this for her so she can watch it over and over 😊' (sic) and another commenting: 'I think my heart might've just skipped several beats 😍😍😍' (sic).

The Marvel actor will be reading Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet’s Supertato, which tells the tale of a superhero potato and a supervillain pea. Yes, you read that correctly.

Despite the terrifying premise, Tom opens the story by saying: "Tonight’s bedtime story is all about a supervillain. This guy is really naughty, very cheeky… and bright green. But never fear, because where there’s trouble, a superhero is sure to follow."

The 40-year-old will be the sixth Tom to read on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, following Tom Ellis, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Fletcher, Tom Odell, Tom Hollander and, of course, Tom Hardy.

Other previous bedtime readers include Chris O’Dowd and Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page.

Tom Hiddleston will appear on CBeebies Bedtime Stories on Friday 25th June at 6:50pm and then on BBC iPlayer.
