Lidl launches Christmas cola truck to rival Coca-Cola

In the same week that Coca-Cola announced their now famous Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour will return this year, supermarket giant Lidl have unveiled their very own truck, which will be heading around the UK in the coming weeks.

Drenched in Freeway cola branding, Lidl's very own cola brand, the massive red truck will tour nine stops across the country, giving out free gifts from the Middle of Lidl to customers, as well as giving away festive food shops.

Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl GB, said: “Giving back to the communities we serve is really important to us and our exciting new Freeway truck allows us to get right into the heart of them this year. By touring nine stops across the country, we'll be using our giant truck to hand out present boxes, give away festive food shops and grant wishes that will make dreams come true. Look out for the Freeway truck on its tour and most importantly, come join the fun.”

When is the Lidl truck's tour?

The truck tour begins on Thursday 14th November, with the last stop happening on Sunday 1st December.

Where is the Lidl truck visiting?

Lidl's Christmas truck will visit nine locations across the UK, starting in Dundee, Scotland, before ending its trip in Southampton, England.

What is the Lidl truck giving out?

Lidl have confirmed that the first 250 customers at each location will be given present boxes made up of items from the iconic Middle of Lidl.

As if that wasn't exciting enough, 1 in 10 present boxes will include a Golden Ticket, which means the lucky customer has won a £100 voucher towards their Christmas food shop at Lidl stores.

Customers attending the Lidl truck tour will also be given samples of food and alcohol-free mulled wine, as well having the chance to win some Lidl Plus goodies.

Perhaps the most exciting part is that Lidl are giving attendees the chance to step inside The Magical Wish-mas Booth to make a Christmas wish.
