Fire crews were called out to reports of a combine harvester fire near Hepworth Road, Market Weston. The fire had spread to approximately one acre of standing wheat, with high-voltage power lines brought down in the field.

The fire spread rapidly and two teenagers and pets were evacuated from a nearby property as a precaution.

Crews from Norfolk and Suffolk tackled the blaze. Two hose reel jets and two sets of breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the combine harvester and standing crop. Crews checked the surrounding properties and confirmed that they were unaffected by the fire.

UK Power Networks engineers also attended and isolated the power. Suffolk fire crews remained to damp down.
