Two canal boats catch on fire in Northampton
Emergency services were called to the scene on Towcester Road last night.
Police are urging residents and drivers to avoid Towcester Road in Northampton after two canal boats caught alight.
Emergency services were called to the scene adjacent to the Pomfret Arms pub at around 9pm last night (1st March).
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
Northamptonshire Police posted on Facebook: "We are currently working with our colleagues at Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service to respond to reports of two canal boats on fire in Towcester Road, Northampton, adjacent to the Pomfret Arms pub.
"Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area whilst we deal with this incident.
"Thank you for your patience."
