Crews tackle fire at Essex waste recycling centre
35 tonnes of waste were alight in Braintree
Firefighters have been tackling a fire at a waste recycling site near Cordons Farm, Braintree.
Crews have been working to extinguish approximately 35 tonnes of waste.
Crews from Braintree, Dunmow and Coggeshall were in attendance.
It started shortly after 2pm yesterday.
Watch Manager Sharon Blute said: "Crews have worked hard, with difficult water supply, to tackle the fire hotspots in the rubbish.
"There is no risk of smoke to the community and relief crews will remain to monitor the scene."
