Body found in search for missing Essex man

Officers searching for missing Essex man, Anthony Smith, have recovered a body from the River Wharfe at Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire.

The discovery was made by member of the public yesterday.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, officers believe the body is that of Mr Smith.

Anthony’s family have been informed and police say their thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

Officers are not currently treating the death as suspicious.
