Fans of Italian football club Salernitana honour Pink Floyd with jaw-dropping display
This is impressive!
Fans of Italian football club Unione Sportiva Salernitana 1919 paid homage to British rock legends Pink Floyd before the team’s Serie A match against Inter Milan on Saturday night (30th September).
Shortly before kick-off, Salernitana fans on one side of the 37,800 capacity Stadio Arechi in Salerno unveiled the multi-layered tifo display.
Originating in Italy, tifos are a choreographed display in which fans raise a large banner together or simultaneously hold up signs that together form a large image.
As you can see in the one minute video below, the Salernitana fans commenced their display by unveiling ‘The Division Bell’ metal heads on each side on the stand before the artwork to ‘The Wall’ appeared in the centre.
The jaw-dropping tifo display then continued with the prism and refracted light from Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ artwork that contained the words ‘You will always find us here on the dark side of the moon.’
The final part of the display saw the diamond-shaped Salernitana club symbol get unveiled alongside the apt words ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’ in Italian.
Unsurprisingly, footage of the tifo display has gone viral with the video on X racking up more than 3 million views and counting.

Salernitana’s stadium is around 24 miles from Pompei where Pink Floyd filmed their fabled Live at Pompeii film back in 1972 at the Roman amphitheatre.
Unfortunately for Salernitana, the Pink Floyd tifo didn’t prove to be a good luck omen as they got thumped by Inter 4-0. The result leaves them third bottom of Serie A, while Inter are top ahead of fierce rivals AC Milan.
