Eddie Van Halen's wife shares emotional open letter following his death

Following his sad death at the age of 65 earlier this week, Eddie Van Halen's widow Janie Liszewski has now paid tribute to her late husband, in the form of an emotional open letter which she's posted on Instagram.
Sharing a photo of herself and Eddie looking into the horizon, Janie told her followers her 'heart and soul have been shattered into a million pieces'.
She wrote, 'My husband, my love, my Peep.
'My heart and soul have been shattered into a million pieces. I never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness. Our journey together has not always been an easy one but in the end and always we have a connection and love that will always be. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have ever had to do so instead I say so long, I will see you again soon in a place with no pain or sorrow. Please watch over Kody and I. We love you and miss you so very much.

Many of Eddie's fans were quick to console Janie in the comments section, one user wrote, 'There are no words... Prayers of comfort going out💔🙏🙏🙏 #godonlypicksflowers @janievanhalen'.
Another commented, 'Eddie will always look after you, wish you all the best, love from Holland', with a third writing, 'So so sorry to hear Eddie passed away. years ago I was in high school and had van halen posters all over my room. Loved him and the band. Had all their albums. You are in my thoughts and prayers'. (sic)
The Van Halen guitarist sadly lost his battle with cancer earlier this week, passing away at Santa Monica Hospital in the US surrounded by his wife Janie, his son Wolfgang, and his brother Alex.
Eddie son Wolfang broke the sad news on Tuesday night (6th October), writing on Twitter, 'I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.
'He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift.
'My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss.
'I love you so much, Pop.'
