Following the cinema release of Michael - the Michael Jackson biopic, it is now available to buy and stream digtially. After the teaser trailer gained more than 4 million views online in its first week, the film filled cinemas across the world when it was released back in April 2026.
Fronted by Michael's own nephew Jaafar Jackson, the film covers Michael Jackson's contribution to music and features some of his biggest hits. Here's everything we know about the movie...
Is there a trailer?
Yes, there have been a few trailers, a teaser was released back in November 2025, before a full-length trailer was released on 2nd February 2026. This was followed by the final trailer, released on Wednesday 8th April, which sees Jaafar as Michael saying: "(I've) just got all these songs in my head, I've just got to get them out!"

Michael Jackson's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Genevieve plays the lead role.
When was it released?
Michael arrived in cinemas on 22nd April 2026, some cinemas started showing it from 24th April 2026. It was then released digitally in June 2026.

You can watch it now on Prime Video, Sky Store, Apple TV. It may also be available on other services.
What does the film artwork look like?
Sharing the film's artwork for the first time, the film studio wrote on Instagram: 'His story made history. MICHAEL – in theaters and IMAX April 24. #MichaelMovie'.
Fans were quick to comment on the poster, writing: 'Lets goooooo!!!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥' (sic) and 'WOW WOW WOW JUST WOWWWW 😭😍😭😍😭'. (sic)
Who made the movie?
It was produced by the makers of huge musical biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, Graham King and Universal.
In a statement to Variety, Graham said: "As a filmmaker, I look to humanise but not sanitise and present the most compelling, unbiased story I can capture in a single feature film and let the audience decide how they feel after watching it."

First look behind-the-scenes
On 10th February 2026 the first look behind-the-scenes of the film was released. In the short video fans got to see interviews with Jaafar, producer Graham King and director Antoine Fuqua.
