Vicky McClure returns for Trigger Point series four

Before the third instalment even hit our screens, Jed Mecurio's high-octane drama Trigger Point was commissioned for a fourth series by ITV/STV. After filming wrapped in September 2025, Vicky McClure is now back as EXPO Lana Washington.
Here's everything we know so far about Trigger Point series four, including when the episodes hit our screens.
When is it on TV?
The fourth series of Trigger Point started at 9pm on Sunday 30th August.
New episodes air every Sunday and Monday night at 9pm, or if you'd prefer, all episodes are available to stream on ITVX and STV Player now.
When was it announced?
ITV/STV announced the amazing news of a fourth series on Monday 9th June 2025, as filming for series three concluded.
ITV’s Director of Drama, Polly Hill commented: “Trigger Point is one of ITV’s most-watched dramas of last year after Mr Bates vs The Post Office so I’m delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series. I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe.”
Leading actress Vicky McClure, added: “We’re all buzzing ITV have such faith in this series to commission a fourth before the third has even aired. I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point.”
After filming for series three ended at the start of 2025, the cast and crew wasted no time in getting back into character, and filming for the fourth series wrapped in September last year.

Who is in the cast?
Vicky McClure once again reprises her role as Lana Washington, with Eric Shango back as Danny, Nabil Elouahabi as Hass, Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan and Maanuv Thiara as DCI Batra.
Actress Maisie Ayres also joined the cast for series four.
Julia Graham and Jonas Armstrong also guest star in the fourth series.
What will happen in series four?
Although the official plot for series four hasn't been released yet, ITV/STV released the first teaser trailer on Monday 15th June, followed by a longer-length trailer on 3rd August.
In the teaser, viewers witness an eye-opening and action-packed 20 second glimpse of what Lana and the team of bomb disposal officers are facing this time as they continue their quest to keep the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats.

Filming for series four took place between June and September 2025.
Where was it filmed?
Although no exact locations have been unveiled, filming once again happened in and around London.

Trigger Point airs on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player.
