A cat that ran onto the pitch at Hillsborough during Sheffield Wednesday's match with Wigan has been reunited with its owner- 8 months after it went missing.

Sheffield woman Alison Jubb says she was shocked when she saw Topsey being escorted off the pitch by Latics player Jason Kerr, which led to play being stopped in the 94th minute.

Topsey was taken to the vet where she was treated for a head injury and a bite to the neck. She was given antibiotics and pain killers and is now recovering.

We asked Alison about what's happened since that dramatic moment on the pitch in South Yorkshire last night:

"My daughter-in-law phoned me last night because she was watching the football match.

"She told me that a cat was on the pitch, which looked very similar to Topsey.

"I just laughed it off, as I thought I'd never see her again.

"Then this morning, I got a call from the vets where she'd been taken, to say that they'd got Topsey. She was chipped, so that's how they knew.

"I was gobsmacked, I couldn't believe it. She's okay, they've done some blood tests which have come back fine.

"They're putting her to sleep and giving her an X-Ray as she may have something wrong with her neck.

"Until we've got that sorted out, we're not sure what's happening yet, but we'll find out later today.

"I'd just like to say thanks to the footballers. They were so gentle and kind with her, and thanks for taking her to the vets, so that Topsey can come home at last."
