Netflix's brand new show Wednesday has been quite the success for the streaming giant. Not only has it broken a huge Netflix record, but it knocked Stranger Things 4 off of the top spot.

With fans loving the Addams Family spin-off starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, along with Jenna Ortega, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez, many have noticed there are several Easter Eggs hidden throughout the new show.

Take a look through Easter Eggs you'll find in the new Netflix series Wednesday:

The infamous clicks

Even if you aren't a massive Addams Family fan you'll most likely know the iconic finger clicks featured in the theme tune.

In the new series, Wednesday has to click twice to enter the secret passageway to the Night Shades' meeting place, and also to get into the library.

Wednesday's name

In the original Addams Family cartoon the kids didn't have names, but apparently over time Wednesday's name was given to her due to inspiration from a nursery rhyme, this is alluded to in the new TV series.

In the very first episode of the show, Wednesday's mum Morticia played by Catherine Zeta-Jones reveals that Wednesday's name came from the nursery rhyme which goes 'Wednesday's child is full of woe'.

Wednesday hates pilgrims

Pilgrim World, the theme park, isn't the first time Wednesday has been annoyed by pilgrims, as she hates colonialism. As fans will know, in Addams Family Values, Wednesday sets fire to the pilgrims camp where she has been sent.

Edgar Allan Poe is referenced throughout

There are a lot of Edgar Allan Poe mentions subtly hidden throughout the series, including the Poe Cup, named after American writer and poet. The boat race, which has no rules, also includes boats with names all inspired by his works.

One of Edgar Allan Poe's most famous pieces of work is The Raven, and ravens are referenced throughout the new series, all over the school campus and even taxidermy birds!

Tim Burton references

In the very first episode we see the coffee shop where Tyler works, take a closer look and in the background you'll see pics on the walls that all reference Tim Burton's pieces of work, including a headless horseman in reference to Sleepy Hollow and a top hat referencing Charlie and Chocolate Factory.

In addition to these references there are some Tim Burton inspired references in the taxidermy shop, Uriah's Heap. Production designer, Mark Scruton told Tudum: "We (have) little mice that reflected some of Tim's movies that you might be able to spot, going on to reveal there are several mice and even a rodent version of Freddy Krueger."

Cousin Ignatius Itt

Cousin Itt was a character who appeared in the TV series and films, appearing as a mass of blond hair wearing a bowler hat and glasses. In the basement of the Night Shades' meeting place, in Wednesday, there is a portrait of the character.

Wednesday's girl scout retort

Wednesday wouldn't be Wednesday without many of her iconic retorts, however there is one that really stands out from the new series.
Back in the original film, Wednesday is asked repeatedly by a girl scout if the lemonade she's serving is made from real lemons. The same girl scout then tries to sell Wednesday cookies, to which she asks: "Are they made from real Girl Scouts?"
In episode three Wednesday says: "I could eat Girl Scouts for breakfast".

The Nevermore Academy's gargoyles are more than just gargoyles

As to be expected, the gargoyles at Nevermore Academy are more than just stone creatures, they represent different characters. The show's set designer Mark Scruton revealed to Variety: "All the gargoyles, they designed (them) to represent the different groups within the schools. So there's vampires and gorgons and sirens...".

Wednesday has great archery skills

This is a subtle nod to the 1993 Addams Family Values film, but in the new show, Wednesday has very good archery skills at her school Nevermore. In Addams Family Values, Wednesday and her brother Pugsley can be seen playing archery.
