How many series will there be of The Crown?

Although Netflix bosses previously stated that series five would be the final instalment of The Crown, they later had a change of heart, confirming the show had been renewed for a sixth series.

In July 2020, The Crown writer Peter Morgan said: "As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons.”

Although there's no set date for series six just yet, it has been confirmed the series will see Prince William and Kate Middleton's relationship blossom, as they both study Art History at the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland in 2001.
