Then, returning to the tent on New Year’s Day is Rahul Mandal, Helena Garcia, Henry Bird and Nancy Birthwhistle.

Taking a look back at this year's series, hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding helped put a smile on our faces, whilst judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith gave their professional opinions on the weird and wonderful creations.

Now that the 2020 series is over, here's a recap of everything you need to know about Bake Off 2020...

Who won Bake Off 2020?

19-year-old university student Peter Sawkins was crowned the 2020 winner of The Great British Bake Off. Peter, a Bake Off superfan, become the youngest ever person to win the show when he was crowned the winner ahead of Dave and Laura.

Speaking after his victory, Peter said, “I wanted this a lot, when I was 12 I was watching repeats of Bake Off back to back, and it got me into baking big time.

"I am a Bake Off nerd, and I think 12-year-old Peter would be in awe, and just the most excited giddy kid. I am that excited giddy kid right now.”

Who was in the Bake Off final?

12 new contestants were announced for the 2020 series, including a radiographer, an accountant, and a bronze resin sculptor.

However, only three bakers made it to the final, Peter, Dave and Laura.

When was the Bake Off final?

The Bake Off final took place on Tuesday 24th November 2020.

Check out the most tear-jerking moments from the Bake Off 2020 final:

1) Noel consoling Laura

Laura had a habit throughout Bake Off 2020 of tending to have a mini breakdown when things didn't go as she planned. When her pastry slice melted in the summer heat, Laura took herself off for a moment - but Noel came to console her, telling her about tennis legend Bjorn Borg and encouraging her to put it behind her and focus on the upcoming tasks. Aww!

2) Peter being a bake off super fan

As Peter is the youngest person ever to win Bake Off at 19, we saw throwback photos of the student from his childhood, showing how his love for being had been inspired by watching the show as a youngster - what a lovely full circle moment for him!

3) Peter telling his family about his win

When a contestant wins Star Baker, it's always a sweet moment - so revealing that they've won is a million times more heartwarming! Peter's incredulous announcement to his family was met with screams of delight that could melt even the coldest of ice cream cakes.

4) Prue thinking of Peter like her grandson

Fans of the show were shocked when Prue revealed her age in an episode a few weeks back, with the revelation that she's 80 really leaving us in awe. But in a cute moment last night, Prue joked that she looked on Peter as a sort of grandson, adding that she was really chuffed for him.

5) Peter not telling his housemates he'd won

It's a miracle to us that those in the Bake Off can keep shtum, but for Peter to keep quiet about his big win whilst at university is astonishing! In the credits, it was revealed that his housemates were finding out with the rest of us as the show went out... Amazing.

6) Dave's baby

Another credits scene saw Dave introduce his baby Ronnie, having spoken about the upcoming birth of his first child throughout the show. An adorable video saw Dave with his son resting on his chest - and honestly, we melted faster than a chocolate challenge in the Bake Off tent. Since then, Dave has shared a snap of baby Ronnie holding a whisk in his tiny hand - aww!

Luis Troyano

In a truly touching moment, the Bake Off producers took the time to remember Luis Troyano, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Luis competed in the fifth series in 2014, making it to the final.

How can I watch Bake Off?

Who presents Bake Off?

Noel Fielding was back to present the show for another year, but this year he was joined by comedian Matt Lucas, after he was announced as Sandi Toksvig's replacement when she made the decision to leave the show earlier this year.

Speaking about joining the popular show, Matt said, “I’m chuffed to bits to be joining the most delicious show on television. I can’t wait to break bread with Noel, Prue and Paul and meet the brilliant bakers.

“And bearing in mind my love of cake, I’ve already ordered some much larger trousers in anticipation. See you in the tent!”

Who are the judges on Bake Off?

The lovely Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith were back for the 2020 series to give their expertise to the aspiring bakers.

Is there a trailer for The Great British Bake Off?

Released at the beginning of September, the advert shows families across the nation panicking after finding out there are no packs of baking flour available in any local supermarkets or shops - a tongue-in-cheek reference to the lack of flour on the nation's shop shelves during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The characters can be heard shouting, "But it's my mum's wedding", while another exclaims, 'But it's my son's bar mitzvah!"

The protagonist in the advert, a young boy attempting to find flour for his grandma, ends up buying the last bag, and rushes on his pushbike to give it to her. The narrator then cheekily says, "phew!", before teasing the show will return "soon."
