Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has dropped a major hint he’s about to return to the soap with his latest post.
Adam rose to fame playing farmer Adam Barton, son of Moira and James Barton, from 2009 to 2018, but quit when Aaron and Cain Dingle broke him out of jail and he left for Europe.
And now fans are convinced he’s returning to the role after he posted a cryptic tweet which read, 'Can’t remember the last time I picked up a script… Time to get back.'
'Please tell us your bringing #bartsy back to Emmerdale!' wrote one fan. 'I cant cope with screaming Mandy anymore (much as I love Lisa) but giggly Adam would definitely bring fun back to the Dales. Whatever you're doing Adam I'm sure it will be brilliant.'
'Omg you can‘t just tweet something like that!?! I won‘t get up my hopes too high, but.... but...,' said another, while one more wrote, 'Please make it Emmerdale. They need you. Hate Mandy Dingle and her husband.'
One more then wrote, 'I was so made up when you arrived on Emmerdale as I liked you on Waterloo road, you’ve been such a fun and loving guy that brightens up everyone’s day! You're very energetic to watch. I wish you the very best with whatever project you decide to do next as I know you will be amazing'. (sic)

He's since gone on to appear in a number of TV shows, releasing a documentary called Mancs In Mumbai with his brothers, Scott and Ryan.
