Billie Eilish released her third album 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' in 2024, later bringing the songs on a world tour, including several dates in the UK in July 2025.
In November last year, the singer confirmed that her amazing tour will be brought to cinemas across the world in 3D. A month later the trailer arrived. 🙌
How did Billie Eilish announce the film?
Billie announced the exciting news as her tour drew to a close in San Francisco. She then took to Instagram where she revealed that not only will the film be in 3D, it will be directed by renowned director James Cameron along with herself.
Billie shared a black and white photo of the pair looking at something on a monitor, writing: 'HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! 🥳🥳🥳 this has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it :’)🎥⭐️🤭💙'. (sic)
As fans will know, James Cameron is the mastermind behind films such as Avatar, Titanic and The Terminator, so the quality of this production is set to be fantastic.
Fans are understandably hugely excited by the news, with one writing: 'oh i am absolutely watching this 10 times a day' (sic), another said: 'Omg omg i just wokeeee uppp omg im so happyyyy😭😭'. (sic)
Is there a trailer?
Yes, there is! On 10th December, Paramount Pictures shared the trailer, which starts with Billie looking out of a hotel window to see some super fans who have camped out overnight for a chance to see the pop star.
When will the film be released?
The film had an original release date of 20th March 2026, however that has now been put back to 8th May.
Where will the film be available to watch?
There will be several places you can watch the film. Odeon and Vue have confirmed they will be showing the film when it has been released. It is also expected that other cinemas will show it. Check with your local cinema for further details.
When did Billie perform in the UK?
Billie's huge tour started in September 2024, and took her around the world, including dates in North America, Australia, mainland Europe, the UK and Japan, finishing back in North America on 23rd November 2025.
Billie performed 12 dates across the UK in July 2025, with two more in Ireland, as part of the European leg of her tour.
Billie's third album 'Hit Me Hard and Soft'
Billie's tour was in support of her third album 'Hit Me Hard and Soft', the singer released the album back on 17th May 2024. It featured 10 songs including 'Birds of a Feather' and 'Wildflower'. The album went on to be certified Platinum in the UK, six months after it was released.
