Strictly's Ola and James Jordan reveal the gender of their first child together

Huge congratulations are in order for former Strictly Come Dancing couple Ola and James Jordan, who are expecting their first child together! Ola, 36, and 41-year-old James have been married since 2003, and have been very vocal about their wishes to have children.

They revealed the happy news in an interview with Hello! magazine in September, and have now announced that they're having a baby girl! Speaking to Hello! once again, James and Ola both shared a wonderful snap of themselves holding a pink balloon.

James wrote, 'I can’t wait to meet my baby girl 🥰,' as Ola shared the same photo with the caption, 'I’m so excited we are having a baby girl 😝💝.'

They told the magazine, "Because we were quite nervous going through IVF we didn't want to jinx anything… Now we know it's a little girl it just feels very real now. It's amazing. It's brilliant."

Ola added, "As a couple we always wanted to know what we're having and I think Christmas is the best time to find out. I was so emotional! A little girl is the best thing that could happen to James, honestly. He's not going to let her go."

James joked that he would be "wrapped about her little finger", but added that his little girl will be "locked up until she's at least 32."

The pair shared the news on Instagram with a cute video, writing: '2024, thank you for the greatest gift ever! Our hearts and hands are gonna be fuller than ever in 2025, and we couldn't be more excited! Sending love and wishing you all the happiest of New Years. Yeah Baby! ❤️'. (sic)

Teddy Swims and Raiche Wright

'Lose Control' singer Teddy Swims and his girlfriend, fellow singer Raiche Wright, announced in January they are expecting their first child together. The pair shared this photo on Instagram, writing: 'We can't wait to meet you baby 🤍✨'. (sic)

Jesy Nelson and Zion Foster

Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson announced in mid-January that she's expecting twins with her boyfriend Zion Foster. The singer shared this cute photo showing off her bump, alongside the caption: 'She's eating for 3 now 👶👶'.

Tiffany Watson and Cameron McGeehan

Made In Chelsea star Tiffany Watson and her footballer husband Cameron McGeehan announced in January that the pair are expecting their second child together. Sharing a post on Instagram, Tiff told her followers: ''A best friend for Jude. Blessed to say we are growing our family'. The couple welcomed a baby boy called Jude in 2023.

MAFS UK series eight star Rozz Darlington announced in early February that she's expecting her first child with boyfriend Jordan Morris. The reality star announced her lovely news on social media, sharing a photo of her baby scan and revealing she's due in August.

Olivia and Alex Bowen

Love Island's fan favourites Alex and Olivia Bowen, who found love on the 2016 series of the hit reality show, have announced they are expecting their second child with a cute video. A few weeks after the announcement, Olivia revealed she was originally pregnant with twins, but sadly lost one.

Caggie Dunlop

Made In Chelsea OG Caggie Dunlop announced in February that she's expecting her first child with her boyfriend. Taking to Instagram, Caggie wrote: 'It still feels surreal to say. Pregnancy has been a wild ride, and in just three months, we'll be meeting this new little soul. I keep looking at my tummy grow and am in awe of my body and of women and what we do and what we create, It's pure magic.'

Anne-Marie and Slowthai

Anne-Marie has announced she's expecting her second baby with husband Slowthai. The singer showed off her baby bump in a video promoting her new song 'Don't Panic'.

Olly Murs and Amelia Tank

Just days after celebrating their daughter's first birthday, pop star Olly Murs and his wife Amelia announced the news they are expecting their second child together! Sharing the news on Instagram, Olly and Amelia wrote over Easter: 'We're so egg-cited to share this..… Another Baby Murs on the way 🍼👶🏻💛'.

In September, Ola shared a snap of the photoshoot on her Instagram which shows the pair embracing and holding a scan of their baby. Opening up about their three-year fertility struggle, which has seen them go through IVF treatment to achieve their dream of parenthood, Ola added that the baby is due in March 2020.

Ola told the publication, "When we had the scan it was funny because the baby was dancing. I'm not sure if it was a cha-cha or a jive, but it was definitely dancing!"

James added, "We've been with each other for 20 years, married for 16, travelled the world, achieved amazing things in our careers: trophies, accolades, Ola won Strictly Come Dancing, I won Dancing On Ice.

"But finding out that we are pregnant is no doubt our biggest achievement ever. This is probably the most special and exciting thing that has ever happened to us."

James shared the same photo on Instagram, and wrote, 'Myself and @olajordan have been waiting for this moment for what seems like an eternity. After being with each other for 20 years and our love for each other growing stronger every day we finally feel complete and are so excited to share our amazing news that we are expecting a baby!!!! 👶

'It’s been a long time coming but the day we found out was honestly the happiest day of our lives. It’s something we have both wanted for a long time and I know Ola will make the best mummy ever.
