Just weeks before THAT interview with Oprah Winfrey is due to air over in America, Prince Harry has appeared on The Late Late Show with fellow Brit James Corden, for a new feature called 'An Afternoon with Prince Harry'.

As well as discussing his new life in the States with his wife Meghan Markle, his one-year-old son Archie, and how the UK press have affected his mental health, Harry also gave his opinion on record-breaking Netflix show The Crown.

Prince Harry, who signed a deal with the streaming giant last year, which is reportedly worth around £100 million, defended the fictional show during his candid chat.

Speaking about the show which portrays the story of the Royal Family between 1947 the early 21st century, Harry said, "They don’t pretend to be news, it’s fictional. But it’s loosely based on the truth.

"Of course it’s not strictly accurate but it loosely it gives you a rough idea of that lifestyle and the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else and what can come from that."

Going on to say he prefers The Crown to the stories written about his family in the press, Prince Harry added, "I’m way more comfortable about The Crown than the stories I see written about my family, my wife or myself. Because it’s the difference between that’s the fact obviously fiction, take it how you will – but this is reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news."

Although James' interview with Prince Harry was recorded before Buckingham Palace confirmed The Duke and Duchess of Sussex won't be returning to roles as working Royals, the 36-year-old did open up about his decision to 'quit' the UK.

Admitting he was 'stepping back' rather than 'stepping down', Prince Harry told James, "It was never walking away. It was stepping back rather than stepping down. It was a really difficult environment, which I think a lot of people saw.

"So I did what any father or husband would do and thought 'How do I get my family out of here'. But we never walked away and as far as I’m concerned, whatever decisions are made on that side, I will never walk away.

'‘My life is public service so wherever I am in the world it’s going to be the same thing."

After getting married back in May 2018, Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle went on to welcome their first child one year later in 2019, introducing Archie to the world.

Then, following the heartbreaking news that Meghan suffered a miscarriage in 2020, the pair recently announced they are now expecting their second child together.

A spokesperson for the couple said, "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
