Dancing On Ice contestant Ryan Sidebottom has been forced to hang up his dancing skates after being ruled out of tonight's show thanks to groin injury.
The former-cricketer is unable to perform in the live Sunday evening performance (27th Jan) after succumbing to a Grade I adductor strain.
Ryan and dance partner Brandee Malto thanked fans for their ongoing support and revealed in a heartfelt statement: 'Me and Brandee are of course very gutted not to be able to perform this weekend, but I’m focusing on getting back on the ice as quickly as I can.'
'I want to thank everyone who has championed us so far, the support has been overwhelming. I’m also extremely grateful for all the support from my fellow contestants and I can’t wait to watch them all perform tomorrow night in the studio. I’ll be cheering them on!!'
A Grade I adductor strain affects the muscles on the inside of the thigh and are graded from 1 (mild), which takes a few weeks to heal, to 3 (mobility severely affected) - and can take up to four months to heal.
It's unclear how long the 41-year-old will be out of action.

The news comes just comes after Ryan and Brandee were almost eliminated from DOI and ended up in the skate-off with Australian actor Mark Little.
The pair put their shaky performance down to their extreme height difference.
Speaking after the performance, Brandee said: 'It's really challenging this height difference. It's hard for him not to lean down because I'm so tiny.'
However, the judges praised their previous dance 'You've come so far from where you started. I feel you deserve the 4.5. I feel like you're a really fun guy and the routine felt it was forced fun.'
