Just last year, pop star Anne-Marie announced the arrival of her second child, a little boy called Forever Sugar, who is a little brother to Seven. At the time of her son's arrival she was very open about her struggles with post natal depression and anxiety.

Now, celebrating Mother's Day, the singer has taken to Instagram to share several photos of herself with her children, and a very relatable caption, for anyone who has experienced struggles as a mum.

The singer wrote: 'Being a mum has made me see other mothers different. I didn’t think it was gonna be this hard and it makes me wanna raise an alcoholic beverage to all the women who did it, all the women who couldn’t do it, who didn’t wanna do it, who gave up, who pushed through, who lost their minds, lost themselves, found themselves, did it on their own, got help, split up with their partners, lost their babies, had a traumatising birth, an easy birth, working mums, stay at home mums, mums who are depressed, emotional, happy, complete, broken.

'This motherhood s--t is next level. It’s an experience I cannot explain and didn’t understand until I did it. Big ups to my mum who did it. My sister who did it. And myself who is just about doing it. What a beautiful, f--ked up, amazing thing to be a part of. Motherhood ❤️'.

Anne-Marie's heartfelt post attracted more than 120,000 likes, with Hits Radio's Fleur East, who is a mum-of-one commenting: 'What a beautiful, f--ked up, amazing thing to be a part of. Indeed. 🙌❤️❤️'

Mum-of-two Paloma Faith added: 'So right ! It’s a f--king mess'. A fan also commented: 'You've said it so spot on! Hardest but most amazing thing in the world ❤️'.

Last year, Anne-Marie released several songs and two EPs 'Act i' and 'Act ii' before the birth of Forever. In 2026 she has been announced to perform at Silverstone for the 2026 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, where she will be supporting David Guetta, as he brings his The Monolith to the UK for the first time.
