Many fans on this side of the pond may not know that Benson actually made a name for himself back in 2021 when he appeared on the 19th series of American Idol. Despite making it to the final 24, Benson withdrew from the competition, opting to pursue music off his own steam instead.

After dropping out of American Idol, Benson released his first single 'Ghost Town'. In a post uploaded to Instagram in October 2021, the fresh-faced singer wrote: '10 DAYS UNTIL GHOST TOWN IS OUT BABY!!! I was able to do my own artwork for the cover art and IM SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!!

'I’ve never tried something like this and I think it’s a great learning experience and way to show who I am as an artist. I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH IM SO PUMPED TO GET THIS SONG OUT!!!' (sic)

Benson has released two albums to date; 'Fireworks & Rollerblades' (released in April 2024) and 'American Heart', which dropped in June 2025.

He shared news of its release on Instagram, writing: 'WELCOME TO MY AMERICAN HEART LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. I hope you enjoy the album :)'

Undoubtedly, Benson's biggest song to date is 'Beautiful Things', which became a TikTok sensation after its release in 2024. The music was used to create lots of different videos, but our particular favourite was the primary school trend, which saw classes of kids join in with the chorus, when they heard the song playing.

After blowing us all away with 'Beautiful Things' in January 2024, Benson released 'Slow It Down' and 'Pretty Slowly' later that year. Then in 2025, he dropped more bangers, including 'Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else', 'Mystical Magical', 'Momma Song' and 'Mr Electric Blue'.

Who is Benson Boone dating?

Benson started dating model Maggie Thurmon in early 2024, but in September 2025, reports were rife the pair had split.

After almost two years together, a source told TMZ: "They are no longer together, though it’s unclear what led to the split."
