London Grammar landed their second UK number one album today, with their latest record currently outselling the rest of the UKā€™s top five albums combined šŸ¤Æ

The indie trioā€™s third studio album, Californian Soul, offers their unique electric pop vibes and enchanting melodies. It feels as though the band have found their signature sound together.

"Emotionally, I actually found this one the easiest, because I feel like weā€™ve sort of stripped back to the bare bones," shares lead singer Hannah Reid.

"We took a lot of pressure off ourselves and for some reason we managed to get ourselves in a headspace where, I think it felt like we had nothing to lose."

Cool Drive's John Kearns recently caught up with the band to see how the band were getting on during lockdown.

"The music rhythmically has changed a lot on this album, vocally itā€™s a real joy to perform, so I canā€™t wait to play it to our fans. There are certain people as well that obviously we miss seeing in the front row that are diehard fans and come to every gig. I really mis seeing them!"

Looking back on previous performances here in Belfast, Hannah suggests that the fans are very similar to those in Australia.

"People are raving to our slowest songs in the front row, literally having a party and such a good timeā€¦like a full on mosh pitā€¦weā€™ve had that."

The band are yet to reveal any upcoming NI tour dates just yet, but hopefully as things start to open up again, weā€™ll have music festivals and gigs coming very soon!
