15 NI pumpkin patches perfect for a family day out

Autumn has well and truly arrived, and we cannot wait for cosy knits and pumpkin spice lattes.

One of the most popular activities for the fall season includes a visit to a local pumpkin patch, where families can pick their perfect pumpkin and carve for the big night on October 31st.

This is something the entire family can enjoy, from walking through the bright orange fields to picking pumpkins right off the stalk.

Most pumpkin patches will be open from the start or mid-October right through to Halloween weekend, but it’s best to contact the venue for check their social pages for any opening/closing updates before you go.

Why not find a farm near you and bring home a pumpkin or two for carving jack-o-lanterns?

Fultons Pumpkin Patch, Strabane

Fultons is another fantastic option in the north west to check out. With over 19 types of pumpkin planted this season, come along, grab a wheelbarrow and roam through this colourful pumpkin patch. Additional attractions include an indoor spook tunnel, indoor animal corner and Witch House. They've also got refreshments on site and a fab picnic areas so families can bring their own picnics and make a proper day of it!

Hallowee’uns at The Jungle

The Jungle comes alive with spooky magic and autumn mischief for Northern Ireland's ultimate family Halloween day out.

 Climb aboard the Haunted Haycart Ride for ghostly tales and giggles, boogie at the spooktacular Halloween Disco on the farmyard stage, Dive into a world of thrilling outdoor adventures made just for kids and pick your very own pumpkin straight from their home-grown patch.

Colin Glen's Pumpkin Forest & Gruffalo Walk

Watch the classic tale of The Gruffalo brought to life in Colin Glen's woods, and spot handcrafted characters hiding among the trees. Then wander the Pumpkin Forest where you can choose your perfect pumpkin, join mini beast hunts, and snap plenty of photos of your little explorers.

Mountpanther Farm Park

By far the biggest event of the year at Mountpanther, the team have got everything from pumpkin carving to fancy dress competitions. There's a spooky trail, outdoor disco and even some ghostly games. As well as all of this, their usual play park, go-karts, sand pit and play tractors will also be available throughout the season.

Pickie Pumpkin Patch, Bangor

Pickie's Pumpkin Patch will opens October 18th with extended opening hours due to incredible demand - admission includes free unlimited use of Pickie Attractions!

Streamvale Farm

Grab a mini wheelbarrow and choose from thousands of perfect pumpkins at Streamvale Farm. Get your dancing shoes on for their Broomtastic Disco, explore the Haunted House, meet the witches and tuck into some free treats in their Spooky Sister's Sweet Shop!

Plus if you're looking for the perfect insta photo, there are plenty of picture perfect photo ops across the farm!

Laganvale Farm

With hundreds of pumpkins grown locally on the farm, the team have expert carvers on hand to help with any spooky designs. Once you've finished your lantern, why not explore the other activities on the farm including the creepy maize maze, spooky story-telling, pedal tractors and go-karts.

The team are running an exciting new Harvest Festival festival this year too, with market stalls, food & drink and fairground style games all set in the beautiful backdrop of autumnal displays for stunning photographs.

Woodview Garden Centre, Armagh

Woodview showcases one of the best displays in Northern Ireland. No booking is required - they're running special autism-friendly days will run from Wednesday 15th October to Friday 17th October - check out their socials for more info

Dyan Mill Farm, Caledon

Explore their spook-tacularly decorated petting zoo, dance the night away at our Halloween disco, or let the kids burn off energy in their playpark and ball pool

Maxwell's Pumpkin Patch NI, Castlederg

If you're looking for a fall family photoshoot, then Maxwells is the place to be. This American themed pumpkin patch has a host of 'Instagram-worthy' backdrops across the farm. It's dog-friendly too, so why don't you make it a real family occasion.

Ballyburren's Halloween Events

Ballyburren's Pumpkin Patch & Halloween Spook Event is back — and it's bigger, scarier, and spookier than ever! Pick your perfect pumpkin under twinkling lights, brave the scare trail and enjoy face-painting & creepy crafts for little monsters!

The Ark Open Farm, Newtownards

The Ark Open Farm really offers something for all. Grab a wheelbarrow and pick your perfect pumpkin then head over to the carving area; their carving team can help carve for you - leaving all the mess and dangerous bits to us.

Before you go, you have to check out their reptiles & creepy crawlies in the brand new Animal Encounters Barn. To top that off and to get you in the autumnal mood, check out their marshmallow toasting area.

Halloween at Montalto

Embark on the Trail of Tiny Terrors this Halloween, suitable for kids and families of all ages, our outdoor experience is filled with adventure, imagination and just the right amount of frightful fun! After completing your quest at the Witch's cottage, and creating magical memories down at the play park, make your way to our haunted patch to pick your perfect pumpkin!

Hillsborough Castle & Gardens

Navigate your way through Hillsborough Castle's Halloween maze, get involved in a pumpkin carving workshop and let magical tales and folklore come to life through their storytelling walks. You can also test your skills with classic autumnal games, from conker duels to welly-tossing and lots more!

Pumpkin Patch & Spookfest. at Let's Go Hydro

This October, Let's Go Hydro transforms into Belfast's ultimate Halloween destination! From 17th–31st October 2025, visit their pumpkin patch and cosy autumn vibes at their lakeside venue. Stroll through the autumn patch and pick your very own pumpkin to take home — or carve it on-site for the full experience. Pre-booking online is essential!
