Belfast goes MAD for grilled cheese pop-up shop
With queues around the block, these toasties must be good! 🧀
Last updated 8th Feb 2021
With cafes and restaurants struggling during such tough financial times, it's heartwarming to see this quirky initiative doing so well!
Prior to covid, Belfast's Cathedral Quarter was the place to be each weekend, typically filled to the brim with pubs and restaurants flowing out onto the cobbled streets. Oh how we long for those nights...waiting 45 minutes for a table and another 20 minutes fighting your way to the bar.
But this weekend, we spotted 'socially-distanced' queues for something a little bit different - Hill Street Hatch. Tucked neatly into the iconic red-bricked wall, sits a quaint green pop-up shop.
Hill Street Hatch is a pop-up space that offers a creative partnership for entrepreneurs in the Belfast hospitality scene, who are looking to test and launch new concepts and ideas.
Each month Hill Street Hatch introduces us all to a new and exciting venture - this February you can find The Toast Office serving up an incredible menu Thursday-Sunday.
From fancy ham to mushroom melts, there's definitely something to suit every palette at The Toast Office. Plus they offer delicious weekly specials, homemade soups and tasty snacks too.
These guys are incredibly passionate about sourcing local produce and celebrating creative flavours. Their attention to detail is superb, everything from their sourdough bread to creamy butter has been carefully selected for maximum flavour.
If you're desperate to get your hands on one of these fabulous toasties, don't miss out. The Toast Office opens Thursday-Sunday, from 11am-4pm in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter.
We can't wait to see what's coming next!
