Love Island's Mike Thalassitis reveals what really happened with Jess Shears

Rumours have been rife over the weekend that dumped Love Island stars Mike Thalassitis and Jess Shears hooked up on the night they left the villa, despite Jess declaring her love for Dom Lever before she left.

With both Jess and Mike receiving some harsh criticism by fans of Dom on social media, the pair appeared on Love Island: Aftersun with Caroline Flack and set the record straight.

With Caroline asking probing questions, Mike admitted the pair stayed in separate rooms in the hotel and despite admitting he thought about going to her bedroom, he didn't.

He later said, "Everyone knows what you read in the media gets blown up. We got back to a villa, and we were chaperoned, we were never alone."

Mike added, "I wouldn't say I fancy her, she's definitely my type but we're just friends."

The pair seemed to fuel the rumours that they'd been getting cosy together after sharing a snap holding hands to their social media accounts.

Sharing a snap from inside of the airport, Mike has his arm around Jess as they hold hands. Jess wrote, 'Hometime for @mike_thala and I 💔 So sad to leave the island but glad to be home. Thanks so much for all the love and support. ❤️❤️❤️'

Jess had previously taken to her Instagram account to slam the rumours and continues to watch Dom cope without her in the villa. Sharing a snap of her face looking confused, she wrote, 'My face watching all the gossip unfold and realising people really do believe everything they read #okaythen #loveisland' sic

Jess has also been sharing a number of snaps with Dom from inside of the villa and has admitted to fans she can't wait for him to get out.

Alongside one snap of the pair kissing, Jess wrote, 'Waking up without this one again was weird 💔🌴☀️ wonder what's happening on the island. Can't wait to see my @domlever ❤️ @loveisland #loveisland'

Despite both parties denying the rumours, fans of Love Island still seem to think Jess' relationship with Dom isn't genuine.

On last night's Love Island: Aftersun, viewers spotted Jess removing her hand from Mike's knee when the cameras went to the pair, leading some viewers to think something is going on.

Meanwhile Dom was informed of the rumours about Jess and Mike during last night's show from his fellow islanders Marcel and Gaby.

The pair received messages from the public and chose to inform Dom about what they heard.

Upon hearing the news, Dom stormed out of the villa, before being consoled by Marcel. He said, "I know it was real, I was true to her and I thought it was special. If she’s done what she’s done it clearly wasn’t as special to her.”

Dom is now coupled up with new girl Tyla, whilst new boy Simon has his eye on Amber after her romance with Kem ended on last night's show.

So much drama!
