Love Island fans left in tears at Jacques' cute admission to Paige
He's fallen for her
Paige Thorne and Jacques O’Neill had looked like early front-runners to win the 2022 series of Love Island, but things took an almighty turn in their relationship during Friday night's shock recoupling.
The pair, who have been together since Jacques entered the villa as a bombshell, were split up during the recent recoupling when Scottish boy Jay Younger took a risk and chose Paige, after admitting he'd had his eye on her since his arrival.
After seeing Paige and Jacques hold hands whilst in different beds on Friday, viewers were left in tears during Sunday night's (26th June) episode, where rugby player Jacques dropped a huge confession.
Getting Paige out of bed in the early hours for a chat, Jacques told her: "I didn't want to tell you that I cared."
When Paige asked why, Jacques added: "Because why would I? I've never cared in my life, why do I want to tell people I care now?"
Putting his mind at rest, Paige replied: "Honestly Jacques, you have nothing to worry about."
Jacques then confessed: "I don't doubt you for a second, I genuinely believe every word you tell me. But, I've just never felt like this in my life."
As Paige got up to give Jacques a hug, viewers took to Twitter to express their love for the pair, with many admitting the scene left them in tears.
One wrote: 'TELL ME WHY I WAS CRYING WHEN JACQUES SPOKE TO PAIGE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?? #LoveIsland'. (sic)
Another added: 'PAIGE AND JACQUES MAN I CANT MY HEART CANT TAKE THIS #LoveIsland', with a third writing: 'OK, I'm crying at Jacques'.
HOWEVER, despite the cute admission, some viewers have admitted they think Jacques could be playing a game, with many revealing they don't 'trust' his actions.
One wrote: 'Are their people who are actually believing Jacques?', with a second adding: 'Don’t trust him sorry 🤷♀️'. A third then wrote: 'Nope. He’s afraid of getting dumped. Paige deserves better.'

No getting drunk
According to 2017 contestant Kem Cetinay, contestants are allowed one small glass of wine or beer a night with dinner.
Being drunk's an absolute no-no, so sex while intoxicated is obviously against the rules too.
No masturbating
No solo sex acts are allowed in the villa, though obviously allowed to get jiggy with their partner.
No nudity
Contestants cannot be naked in front of other islanders, since the villa is technically a public space.
No books, phones or magazines
The islanders are given snazzy phones from their sponsor, Samsung (what else would they get their texts on?); but anyone sneaking their own mobile phone into the villa would risk being removed.
Same goes for books and magazines, too.
No inappropriate language or behaviour
This could cover homophobic, racist or aggressive language and is quite the broad rule. Inappropriate behaviour is again at producers' discretion, and would include violence and sexual harassment.
No discriminating against staff
Any Islanders who are rude to crew could run the risk of being booted off the show, and contestants must NOT take their mic packs off unless instructed to.
Follow the rule book
Simple. Contestants must obey the rule book they're provided with; which includes information on safe sex, consent and how to know if you're following the guidelines.
As Paige is currently coupled up with Jay, fans are eager to see if she will keep 'getting to know' the Scot, or if she will put all of her eggs in one basket for Jacques.
