It's taken over our lives for the last two months, but the 2018 series of Love Island will come to an end on Monday 30th July, with a live show hosted by Caroline Flack. But fear not, the show WILL return in 2019 and applications are opening soon!

That's right, even though the current series is still running, voice-over Iain Stirling confirmed the show will return during last night's episode (Tuesday 25th July). He said,"By the way if you'd like to appear in next year's Love Island applications open soon, you just need to be young, single and able to run in slow motion."

YES! 🙌

Although applications on the ITV website are not yet open, it's being reported that bosses of the show have brought the process forward in an attempt to find the best contestants for the 2019 series.

The 2018 advert read, "ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of a summer of love. The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another - but to remain in paradise they must also win the hearts of the public."

So if you fancy living in a luxurious villa in the blazing hot sunshine for a couple of months whilst you try and find love, keep your eyes pealed for applications opening!

Meanwhile, with the 2018 series coming to an end on Monday 30th July, another elimination is set to take place on tonight's show (25th July).

After last night's show, viewers were asked to use the free app to vote for their favourite couple, meaning the pair with the least votes will be eliminated from the villa.

Couples still left on the show and battling it out to win the £50,000 prize money include, Jack and Dani, Wes and Megan, Josh and Kaz, Paul and Laura, Alex and Alexandra and Jack and Laura.
