The wages for the cast of Love Island 2018 have been revealed
They get paid?!
Last updated 20th Jul 2018
You may think getting a free summer holiday in a luxury villa out in Mallorca should be enough for the cast of Love Island, but it turns out they actually get paid during their time on the show.
Yes, that's correct! According to new reports, each Islander is given £200 per week during their time on the popular dating show, which works out at around £2.80 per hour when you take into account all of the filming they do.
The amount may seem slightly slow per hour, but when you think of how much money some of the Islanders make when they leave the show, we certainly wouldn't turn it down!
Meet the Love Island 2018 cast:
Not only do the winners receive prize money of £50,000, the Islanders use social media, promotions and magazine deals as a big way of making money.
Past contestants such as Kem Cetinay, Olivia Buckland, Chris Hughes, Kady McDermott, Jess Shears and Dom Lever make thousands for their single social media posts and appearances. Who can forget Jess and Dom's visit to the opening of the kebab shop?!
Meanwhile, with just days to go until the brand new series of Love Island begins, excited fans have been expressing their opinion on this year's cast.... and it's not all been positive!
A number of Love Island fans have revealed they feel 'underwhelmed' after seeing the new cast.

Despite the negative comments, a number of past contestants, including Olivia Buckland and Kady McDermott, have defended the new Islanders.
Olivia, who is set to marry Alex Bowen later in the year, wrote, 'Last year everyone said the same thing about the Love Island line up being rubbish. THEN look what happened!!!! Give these guys a chance - you’ll LOVE them in a couple of weeks! Even if you don’t, you’ll still be obsessed and watching it 😂 #LoveIsland'. sic
Kady then added, 'What’s with all the negative tweets about this years islanders!? Loads said the same about last years when the line up got released! I personally think they’re all fit and will have great crack once it’s on🙌🏻'. sic
We can't wait for the show to kick off! 🌴
