Derry Girls and Bridgerton star, Nicola Couglan looked incredible at last night’s star-studded Met Gala 2022.
Despite being one of the most famous faces in TV, this was Nicola’s first Met Gala event.
She channeled her inner Lady Whistledown in a showstopping pink and black Richard Quinn gown, adorned with crystals and feathers, and of course a glamorous train.
Despite it being one of the most photographed red carpets in fashion history, what goes on behind closed doors at the Met Gala is kept hidden…most of the time.
Nicola shared a sneak peak on her Instagram story, with a video of Lizzo and Bruno Mars watching Lennie Kravitz perform.
When she switched the camera to selfie mode, she posted the caption: “Good at times like this to remember I used to work in a Spar.”
The 35-year-old recently shared how her journey to fame wasn’t always easy.
“I was so desperate to be acting and unsure that I would ever get to. I was really broke and really disheartened.
“I’m in constant disbelief at the good fortune I’ve had, the people I worked with, and the people I’m about it work with.
It’s overwhelming to think back but I’m so grateful to all the kindness and support people have shown me and know I never take a moment of this for granted. Follow ya dreams kids ✨”
Landing her dream role as Clare Devlin in the hit Channel 4 show Derry Girls, catapulted Nicola into the spotlight.
The third and final series of Derry Girls is rapidly coming to an end, but fans can rejoice over the news that a special extra episode is on the very way soon.
The extended instalment, which is set to air in the same week as the show’s finale, is set a year into the future and depicts a key moment in Northern Irish history — the Good Friday Agreement vote.
It will pick up one year after the events of the third series, as the gang prepare for their final year of school.
You can watch the special episode, titled The Agreement, on 17th May at 9pm on Channel 4.
As one door closes, another opens! Nicola landed the role of a lifetime in Bridgerton two years ago, as the undercover columnist Lady Whistledown.
Bridgerton was watched by a whopping 82 million households in the first month alone. A third and fourth have already been confirmed.
