Holly Willoughby ecstatic as she lands role in her favourite TV show
We didn't see this one coming
Holly Willoughby is over the moon as she has landed a guest role in an upcoming episode of ITV's Midsomer Murders. As a huge fan of the programme, Holly was surprised live on This Morning as stars of the show asker her to appear in the detective drama - and, of course, Phillip Schofield was in on the bombshell.
As the show's stars Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix appeared on today's This Morning (18th March), they revealed, "We have all had a big talk about who we want to appear on Midsomer and we have decided that we want Holly Willoughby to appear in an episode of Midsomer Murders very soon."
Neil, who plays DCI John Barnaby, continued, "I have been speaking to people upstairs and they have been speaking to your people, but Holly please I am emboldened here to offer you a role in Midsomer Murders."
Holly, clearly shocked by the proposal, exclaimed "that's amazing", before fan-girling over the series, saying, "Yes! Of course I say yes. I have seen every single episode since it started way back when. Are you serious?"

Of course, like any good This Morning surprise, Phillip was plotting behind-the-scenes of the big reveal, telling Holly beforehand, "We had a brief meeting this morning to discuss how we were best to do this and I think we are best to do it right now", before asking Neil and Nick to "tell my friend here what she doesn’t know".
Clutching her hands to her chest, a moved Holly then joked, "You are going to have to kill me off really quickly because I am terrible at acting", before requesting death by chocolate on the show.
We have faith in you, Holly!
