Location of Extinction Rebellion camp in Glasgow revealed
Activists are planning to set up camp in a Glasgow park for the duration of the COP26 climate change conference.
Extinction Rebellion members travelling to Glasgow for the COP26 climate change conference from other parts of the UK intend to set up a camp in the city's Pollok Country Park.
The group is not officially encouraging camping, particularly as temperatures are expected to drop as low as 3 degrees Celsius at night.
However, with a shortage of accommodation many activists still plan to set up tents in the popular Glasgow beauty spot.
Campers have also been warned that the campsite will be an occupation and that Police Scotland has the power to clear the site, and alternative accommodation will not be made available if that were to happen.
It is understood a small number may already be on the site with more tents expected to be erected during the course of Sunday.
We've asked Glasgow City Council and Police Scotland for comment.
