The X Factor reveals brutal new twist
This will shake things up!
Last updated 24th Oct 2017
It's that time of year again, Halloween is fast approaching, the weather is turning colder, and The X Factor live shows are about to hit our TV screens.
After the dramatic Judges' Houses round last weekend, which saw Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger pick their final three contestants, the first live show of the series is set to air on Saturday night.
With 16 acts in total set to battle it out to become the next superstar, bosses of the show have just dropped a massive twist which is set to up the nerves of the contestants even further.
According to new reports, five contestants will be sent home in the first TWO weeks!
A TV insider told a national newspaper, "With 16 contestants and only six weeks of live shows to get through, the eliminations are going to be coming thick and fast."
They added, "Producers are still finalising the plans, even with the first live show just days away. But this is shaping up to be one of the most brutal series."
Unlike previous years, it's also being reported that only half of the contestants will perform on Saturday night's show, with the other half performing on Sunday night.
That's set to shake things up a bit!
After Sunday night's show, Dermot O'Leary announced one act from each category will be brought back as a wildcard, with viewers given the chance to vote for their favourites.
Voting closed at 1pm on Monday 23rd October, but at the time of publication The X Factor are yet to announce which four contestants will be returning.
