We've only just about got over the tragic deaths of Dylan "Smurf" Smith and Elvis Harte on hit BBC One drama Our Girl, but fans were once again left in floods of tears during last night's (Tuesday 14th Aprl) dramatic episode, when another beloved character from 2 Section tragically passed away.

Bosses made fans of the show wait a whole week to discover the aftermath of Private Frankie "Fingers" Stille's gunshot wound, and whilst Corporal Georgie Lane (Michelle Keegan) managed to keep him alive and transport her brother-in-law to a hospital, fans were left devastated later in the episode.

Despite it looking like Fingers was going to make a recovery in the care of American Dr Antonio, the popular character passed away in hospital, with a heartbroken Georgie watching on.

Before his tragic passing, Fingers recorded a voice message for his new wife Marie, whilst receiving treatment from her sister Georgie in the back of 2 Section's vehicle.

He said, "Marie, how you doing? I've got myself into a spot of bother, babe. We might have to have our honeymoon at the QE in Birmingham."

After witnessing the upsetting scenes, viewers of the show were quick to take to Twitter to express their disappointment.

Meanwhile, despite flying back to the UK for Fingers' funeral, Georgie made the decision to return to Afghanistan with 2 Section, admitting they must continue their mission in Fingers' honour.

Fingers, played by Manchester born actor Sean Ward, took to social media after his final episode aired, writing, 'It’s not sunk in yet. All I can say is I cried. Real manly tears! I started this show in 2014 😭 Love to all soldiers who put their lives at risk to allow us our freedom. Love to all the medics out there. #ripfingers'. (sic)
