Pop music fans went into meltdown earlier this week when Canadian singer Shawn Mendes and One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan more or less confirmed they would be working together on a new single.

And if that wasn't enough to deal with, Niall's former 1D band mate Liam Payne also wants in on the action! (We can't blame him, tbh). Niall's initial tweet was responding to a fan who had asked, 'niall will you ever give us a song with shawn?' sic, Niall then tweeted, 'We're going to try', but Shawn took it one step further saying, 'We ARE going to!'. sic

And now, Liam, who split from Cheryl in the summer of 2018, delighted fans when he asked to 'play the triangle' on their potential new track.

Tagging both Niall and Shawn in his response, Liam wrote, 'Can I play the triangle?'. sic

Now that is a collab we'd pay to see! 🙌

Of course, fans went wild at Liam's tweet, with many commenting on his post. One user wrote, 'Harry can play the kazoo and Louis can play the xylophone', with another writing, 'You should call @Harry_Styles and @Louis_Tomlinson and form a band called another direction.' sic
