Dua Lipa's new single 'Training Season' is out now
It's a banger!
Last updated 10th Apr 2024
Just days ago Dua Lipa's fans thought the singer had started to tease some new music, ahead of her performances at the Grammys and The BRITs, and it turned out they were correct!
Dua's now released the song 'Training Season', along with a music video. Taking to Instagram, the singer shared a clip from the video and wrote: 'TRAINING SEASON IS OVER!!!!!! UGH OUT NOW EVERYWHERE!!!! FINALLY!!!!'
Opening up about the meaning of the song, Dua said: "I had been on a string of bad dates, and the last one was the final straw. The next morning I arrived to the studio to Caroline and Tobias asking me how it all went and I immediately declared ‘TRAINING SEASON IS OVER,’ and like the best ‘day after’ debriefs with your mates, we had a lot of laughs and it all quickly came together from there.
"And while it is obviously about that feeling when you are just absolutely done telling people…men specifically in this case, how to date you right; it is also about my training season being over and me growing with every experience.
"I have never felt more confident, clear or empowered. And while it may be that training season is never over for any of us, you start to see the beauty in finding that person to experience it with. You stop looking for the trainees and become more interested in having someone where you are and someone to grow with.”
Dua, who released the song 'Houdini' back in November 2023, previously took to Instagram to share some photos, captioning them: 'Grammy rehearsals and other fun thingsssss'. (sic)
The first pic showed Dua taking a mirror selfie in a dance studio. On the mirror the song name 'Houdini' could be seen written in black alongside 'Track 2'. Above where it said 'Track 2', 'Track 1' is written with a dash next to it. The 'Dance The Night' singer was also wearing a top, which had a couple of words on it, which fans believed was a song name, and they were right.
Dua then later took to TikTok to share the first clip of the song, and it quickly proved to be a big hit with fans.
Fans commented on her TikTok saying: 'omg i need it 😭' (sic) and 'Sounds like a bop!! Can’t wait'.
