All of the Disney films coming out in 2024 and beyond

There are lots of exciting films to look forward to!

In recent years, Disney have been working away on remaking their animated classic films as live-action films - but that doesn't mean they're not hard at work making some brand new titles for us all to enjoy.

Disney and Pixar have shared details of a number of new films and series that will be added to Disney+ or released in cinemas in the coming months - and it's safe to say there's plenty to look forward to!

Check out these new and upcoming films from Disney and Pixar:

Moana 2

Release date: 29th November 2024


Cast: Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Simea, Rose Matafeo as Loto, Alan Tudyk as Heihei.


Synopsis: "Moana 2 takes audiences on an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she's ever faced."

Mufasa: The Lion King

Release date: 20th December 2024


Cast: Aaron Pierre as Mufasa, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Kani as Rafiki, Tiffany Boone as Sarabi, Preston Nyman as Zazu, Mads Mikkelsen as Kiros, Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, as well as Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Keith David, Anika Noni Rose and Blue Ivy Carter.


Synopsis: "Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe."

Snow White

Release date: 21st March 2025


Cast: Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan and Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman.


Synopsis: Not too much has been said about the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White, but we're guessing it'll follow a pretty similar storyline to the 1937 original.

Elio

Release date: 13th June 2025


Cast: Yonas Kibreab as Elio Solis, America Ferrera as Major Olga Solis, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Brad Garrett as Ambassador Grigon.


Synopsis: "For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar's all-new movie Elio, the universe calls back! The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth's ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be."

Zootopia 2

Release date: 26th November 2025


Cast: TBC


Synopsis: TBC

Toy Story 5

Release date: 19th June 2026


Cast: Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear.


Synopsis: There aren't too many details about this film yet, but Pixar CCO Pete Docter said in February 2023 that the film would be "surprising" and have "cool things you've never seen before".

Moana

Release date: 10th July 2026


Cast: Catherine Laga'aia as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.


Synopsis: It's very early stages in the project, but it's thought that the storyline will follow the 2016 animated original.

Freaky Friday 2

Release date: TBC


Cast: Returning to reprise their roles are Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. New characters will be played by Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons.


Synopsis: There's no word yet on what the plot will entail!

Frozen III

Release date: TBC


Cast: So far, we only know that Josh Gad is returning as Olaf the Snowman.


Synopsis: There's no word yet on what might happen in Frozen III!
