Congratulations are in order for former EastEnders actor Sid Owen who has welcomed his first child with fiancée Victoria Shore.

Sid, 49, announced the news on Instagram with a picture of himself in scrubs kissing Victoria’s head as they both prepared to welcome their newborn.

He captioned the post: ‘Been a long a day. But. Can I say. I love you Victoria. Thank you for our baby.’

Sid’s friends and family were quick to say congratulations, with his former co-star Dean Gaffney writing: ‘Congrats brother. ❤️’

His former on-screen wife Patsy Palmer, who played Bianca Jackson, said: ‘Congratulations to you all 🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️’

Another of Sid’s followers commented: ‘Oooh wow. Absolutely over the moon for you both. Massive congratulations 👏 👏👏.’

The new parents are yet to reveal the baby's name and sex, and told OK! that they plan to keep the gender private.

The said: "We are going to keep that a secret. That’s just for us at the moment."

The couple’s happy news comes after they revealed they suffered a heart-breaking miscarriage in early 2021.

Sid and Victoria, who first dated 20 years ago and rekindled their romance after reconnecting via Facebook, both shared their agony at the loss of their baby.

Seven weeks before the couple were told the heart-breaking news, Sid told The Mirror: “I never ever dreamt I would have kids. The older you get the more distant that idea seems, you give up hope sometimes, so it is a miracle it has happened.

“I’m glad I am doing it now rather than in my 20s, I would have been a rubbish dad then.”

Victoria, who is mum to two children, added that she expected Sid to be a “chilled dad”.

In September 2021, the pair revealed that they were expecting again, just after announcing their engagement.

Huge congratulations!
