Sam Thompson breaks silence on deleted video mocking Zara McDermott

Sam says he had 'full permission' to post the clip

To anyone claiming to be 'bored' during lockdown, we simply ask how? Literally how, when the ongoing saga of Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott's split is providing new twists and turns on a daily basis, even beyond our Made in Chelsea fix?

The latest move in 2020's messiest break-up saw Sam delete a video of himself mocking Zara's 'breakdown', as she begged for his forgiveness in scenes aired on the show.

Now, though, Sam's claimed he had ex-girlfriend Zara's 'full permission' to post the TikTok, insisting she 'understood' the intention was to 'take the p-ss' out of himself.

Taking to Instagram Stories to explain the situation, Sam said, "I'd just like to address the video I took down last night I found it quite funny I think 99.9% of you found it quite funny.

"But to the 0.1% I'd just like to say I did have Zara's full permission to post that, I showed it to her prior and she understood the context of it.

"She understood it was actually me taking the p--s out of myself and the fact Made In Chelsea has been there for every high and every low of my entire life, of how mad it is you can take a clip like that and put your own spin on it it's trending on TikTok I find it hilarious and slightly terrifying."

Sam added, "But she was on board with it, she understood it, I would never post something without running it by her, regardless of the fact that we're not together.

"It was in no way meant to be revenge or anything like that, and she got that. Maybe in a few months I'll post it again and the humour can be seen by all."

Check out all of the Made In Chelsea couples you forgot about:

1. Jamie Laing and Louise Thompson

Remember when Jamie and Louise dated (much to Spencer's dismay) in 2012. Louise then left Jamie for Spencer, causing a very traumatic love triangle indeed. Poor Jamie.

2. Binky Felstead and Jamie Laing

Binks may be loving life now with her three kids, but remember when she dated Jamie Laing?!? Yes, we forgot too. After years of friendship, the two found it difficult to transition to an actual relationship, so decided to call it a day.

3. Lucy Watson and Jamie Laing

Jamie and Lucy were together for a bit, and would even delight us with scenes of them walking their dogs together. Not one for holding back, Lucy Watson has called the show 'incestuous' and she 'no longer wants to waste time with people like Jamie and Proudlock'. BURN.

4. Lucy Watson and Proudlock

Ah yes, Lucy and Proudlock. They were the most swoon-worthy couple in SW3... Oh, until Lucy found out that Proudlock was dating other women.

5. Ollie Locke and Chloe Green

Topshop Heiress Chloe Green joined the MIC lot in 2011 to date Ollie Locke. As we're sure you remember, Ollie had previously dated Gabby, who he broke up with to explore his feelings for men, only to then end up with another woman. Fair to say it did not go down well...

6. Rosie Fortescue and Hugo Taylor

When Hugo was dating Millie Mackintosh in the show, he hooked up with her best friend Rosie. Millie then infamously outed the pair, as she raised her glass to a party full of guests and said 'cheers to friendship'. As we now know, Millie and Hugo reunited - now married with kids!

7. Spencer Matthews and Lucy Watson

Remember when Spenny took Lucy to Paris in 2013? And we almost believed he had given up his womanising ways. Well, we were wrong, and he admitted to cheating on Lucy with several women. Sigh.

8. Spencer Matthews and Louise Thompson

Louise joined the show in season one as Spencer's (very despairing) girlfriend. Spencer being Spencer, couldn't stay faithful and resulted in a fair few teary scenes between the pair - including THAT infamous breakup scene by Putney Bridge.

9. Alex Mytton and Binky Felstead

Binky and Alex were love's young dream (kinda) for two years, with fans over the moon the show-favourite had found her match - until his constant cheating became unforgivable and the pair split.

This all comes after 27-year-old Sam's split from Zara was aired in really-rather-dramatic Made in Chelsea scenes recently.

Zara, who admitted to cheating with The X Factor: Celebrity music boss Brahim Fouradi, pleaded with Sam to stay with her, saying, "Please, stop, please. Please don't leave me."

After Sam insisted he 'couldn't' do it, Zara begged, "You can do it, you can do it. You can. Please I don't want to throw this away. I genuinely believe with my whole heart we can get through this. I really do."

The drama is still playing out on Made In Chelsea, so don't miss it!
