It's been a year of ups and downs for pop star Ariana Grande, who split from her fiancé Pete Davidson two months ago. And now, after taking a break from social media, Pete has posted a statement revealing the online bullying he experienced after splitting from the 'breathin'' singer.

The statement read, 'I've kept my mouth shut. Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything. I'm trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference.'

Pete explains how he has been bullied both online and in public for nine months. He goes on to say how he has previously spoken about being suicidal and hopes that he will bring awareness to these issues and help those who are affected.

Since posting his statement thousands of comments have been posted on Instagram, with many of them being supportive saying, 'I love you Pete!', 'Keep being who you are', and many comments were simply the red heart emoji.

Rumours of Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande's break-up first started back in October, when a source close to the pair reportedly told entertainment website TMZ that the couple have acknowledged, "that it simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off".

Ariana later addressed her split from the Saturday Night Live comedian on social media. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Ariana posted a photo saying, 'Can't believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!! Not today satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d--k'. sic
