Louis Tomlinson shares moving tribute to his late mum Johannah Deakin
It's been one year since she died
Last updated 11th Dec 2017
Former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson shared a touching tribute to his late mum Johannah Deakin, on the anniversary of her tragic passing in 2016.
One year on since Johannah lost her battle with leukemia, Louis took to his Facebook account to share a photo of himself kissing his mum on her wedding day.
Alongside the photo he simply wrote, 'Always in my thoughts and forever in my heart. Love you. Always x.'
Fans of the singer were quick to send messages of support. One user wrote, 'Such a lovely picture of you and your loving mum Johannah. You must continue to stay strong for her and for your family as she would want you to be happy and to carry on living your life.'
Another added, 'Be strong and stay strong and be brave.'
The sad news of Johannah's passing was confirmed by her husband Dan on the 9th December last year.
Revealing she'd lost her battle to an aggressive form of leukemia, Dan released a heartfelt statement about his wife, who died at the young age of 42.
Johannah left behind seven children, including her two-year-old twins Doris and Ernest, as well as her grandson Freddie Reign.
Ahead of the anniversary of her death, Louis spoke about his tragic loss, and admitted he just wants to make her proud.
Speaking to metro.co.uk, the 'Just Hold On' singer said, "I think, 'I have got to make her proud.' It’s those things that really keep me going. It’s been a crazy 24 months and a hell of a lot to deal with for someone of my age."
He continued, "Enormous tragedies affect people in different ways. I’m lucky that my mum brought me up to be pretty thick-skinned. There is never any time in my job to sit and feel sorry for myself. I always want to keep going and keep fighting. Of course, at times it is as difficult as it possibly could be...It genuinely makes me a stronger person and creatively it gives me so much depth. I think I am coping as well as I could do, to be honest."
As well as Louis' heartfelt tribute, his sister Lottie Tomlinson also paid tribute to her mum on social media.
The make-up artist shared six stunning photos of Johannah and wrote, '1 year today. We were meant to have forever together but even that wouldn’t have been long enough. Thank you for being my angel in the sky and showing me how it feels to have been loved by you. ❤️' sic
