Former One Direction star Liam Payne is pulling out all the stops for his latest single, 'Stack It Up', as reports break that he has enlisted the help of hit-making singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran to ensure his comeback is a hit.

The stars have joined forces before when Liam released his debut single 'Strip That Down' back in 2017. The song proved a hit with fans, however the singer's latest track 'First Time', released in 2018, failed to make an impact in the UK charts.

A source has told the Daily Star, "Liam and Ed have teamed up again on his new song after the success of Strip That Down, it's called Stack It Up. Like with his debut single, the song is produced by Steve Mac.

"The video was shot in June and fans will be able to hear it by the end of August."

The song is reportedly a collaboration with American rapper A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

The pair's collab history even stretches back to the good old 1D days, with Ed helping the boys out with their hit track 'Little Things'. The 'Shape Of You' siner is also responsible for hits such as Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself', Taylor Swift's 'Everything Has Changed' and Rita Ora's 'Your Song'.

Now take a look at some songs that you might not know where written by Ed Sheeran...

Another collab with Taylor's good friend Ed Sheeran, who helped write the track. It was the first time Taylor had worked with Future, but it was her third collab with a rapper following 'Bad Blood' with Kendrick Lamar and 'Both of Us' with B.o.B.

The news comes after Ed Sheeran's new music video 'Nothing On You' breaks 6 million views in just a few days. The singer is on a roll this year, releasing 'I Don't Care' with Justin Bieber back in May, followed by 'Beautiful People' featuring Khalid, and of course his 'No.6 Collaborations Project' album.
