Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington donates a huge amount to charity
His fans are ecstatic
He's known for being generous, kind and funny but Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has just put himself on a higher pedestal with fans, after donating nearly £8,000 to the charity Mencap. It comes after the actor checked into the Connecticut health retreat Privé,-Swiss, where he was treated for 'stress and alcohol'.
Kit revealed he decided to donate the generous amount after seeing a campaign page titled 'Honouring Kit Harrington's dedication and commitment to Game of Thrones', which was raising money for the charity.
Writing on the JustGiving donation page, Kit said, "With love and respect from beyond the wall".
"To those of you who set this page up in my name and those of you who contributed and left message, please accept my deepest and most heartfelt thank you".
He added, "This donations page lifted my heart and brought tears to my eyes, what a beautiful gift to receive...how generous of you all".
Speaking about the charity, Kit concluded, "Mencap is truly a wonderful charity and the money given here will go to the most incredible cause".

And the creators of the page were quick on Kit's heels, thanking him for his donation. They said, "Kit Harington has given so much to the fans of Game of Thrones over the past decade playing the King in the North, Jon Snow. He absolutely nailed his performance and we loved every second of screen-time we had with him'.
They added, "This fundraiser is here to show Kit that we're incredibly thankful to him for the sheer amount of love and skill he put into Jon Snow for us to enjoy".
Fans of the 32-year-old were quick to praise the actor, with one user writing on Twitter, 'Wow, he really is an inspiration', whilst another wrote, 'YES KIT, u are amazing. Keep going'. sic.
