Beverley Callard's daughter defends her in I'm A Celeb vegan row

She was spotted eating a Scotch egg

A number of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here viewers have accused Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard of 'lying' about being a vegan on this year's show, in order to get out of nasty eating trials.

Despite Beverley taking part in the first eating trial, alongside Vernon Kay and Jordan North last week, the actress was given vegan alternatives in the trial, but eagle-eyed viewers spotting her going on to eat both bread and butter, and a Scotch egg.

After spotting this, viewers of the popular show took to Twitter to express their confusion, with Beverley's former Coronation Street co-star Simon Gregson even questioning her veganism during an appearance on Loose Women.

Speaking to the panel, Simon, who played Bev's on-screen son in Corrie for over 30 years, said, "Rebecca her daughter is vegan and I'm sure Bev has done it for all the right reasons, health and to save the planet.

"If you believe that, I'm a mango."

He then jokingly said, "I'm pretty sure it's because she doesn't have to put a willy in her mouth. I've known Bev when she's come back from a pub late in the morning with kebab in her hair so maybe she'll come back with vegan bread in her hair."

Well, despite all of this, the person who knows her best in the world, her daughter Danielle, has now spoken out about the subject defending her mum.

Taking part in a Q&A on Beverley's Instagram account, Danielle revealed her mum would be getting 'vegan substitutes' to what the others have when questioned how she is eating scotch eggs.

There you go then!
