They may have announced their split in July 2018, but former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl and One Direction star Liam Payne have remained great friends, co-parenting their son Bear Grey Payne.

After Bear turned two last week, poor Liam revealed he was forced to miss his son's birthday, due to work commitments out in Dubai.

The singer, who became a dad for the first time in March 2016, was criticised online for 'missing' his son's birthday, but he was quick to put the record straight whilst speaking to a radio station in Dubai.

Admitting the former couple had a 'little party' for Bear, Liam said, "It was his second birthday yesterday so we had a little party, just family at the house.”

But it doesn't sound like that is the end of the two-year-old's celebrations, as Liam confirmed there was a 'big party' coming up for the youngster.

Meanwhile, despite both paying tribute to baby Bear on his first birthday in 2018, both Cheryl and Liam decided to keep their son's second birthday private, not posting anything on the social media accounts.

Since Cheryl gave birth to Bear in 2016, the pair have kept their son's life extremely private, never showing pictures of his face in public or on social media.

However, to welcome in the New Year, Cheryl delighted her fans by uploading three cute snaps of Bear to her Instagram Story. Cheryl uploaded an adorable snap of her son 'learning to jiggle', as well as one of him playing football in the garden, and listening to music.

Meanwhile, Cheryl reunited with her Girls Aloud BFF's Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh at the weekend, as she attended Rochelle Humes' 30th birthday party with a whole host of famous faces.
