According to multiple reports pop star Ariana Grande and her boyfriend for two and a half years, Mac Miller, have split. The surprise, sad news comes as the pair were seen being close and cuddling at Coachella festival last month.

American website People have confirmed earlier reports by TMZ that the couple have decided to split, but will remain friends.

The couple first made their relationship public back in 2016, but according to TMZ found their schedules were too much for them to continue as a couple.

This latest news has come as a shock after Mac recently, publicly tweeted about his love for Ariana saying, 'very proud of this girl right here ❤️ Welcome back. We missed you. One of a kind.' sic

This tweet was in response to Ariana's latest single 'No Tears Left To Cry', her first new music since the Manchester bombing which happened almost a year ago.

As well as being in a relationship, Ariana and Mac have also worked together on a couple of tracks including Ariana's 'The Way' in 2013 and Mac's 'My Favorite Part' in 2016.

Neither Ariana or Mac have responded publicly to the news.

Ariana Grande recently dropped her fantastic song 'No Tears Left To Cry' along with the video for her new music. The video pays tribute to those killed in the Manchester Arena bombing which happened on the 22nd May 2017.

22 people's lives were tragically cut short, the victims from the night were Alison Howe, Angelika Klis, Chloe Rutherford, Eilidh MacLeod, Elaine McIver, Georgina Callander, Jane Tweddle, John Atkinson, Liam Curry, Lisa Lees, Marcin Klis, Kelly Brewster, Megan Hurley, Michelle Kiss, Nell Jones, Olivia Campbell-Hardy, Saffie Roussos, Sorrell Leczkowski, Wendy Fawell, Courtney Boyle, Philip Tron and Martyn Hett.

After the tragic events in May last year, Ariana chose to take a break from music and has posted very little on her social media accounts since.

However, Ariana has now confirmed that her new album 'Sweetener' will be coming very soon along with something big 'every 20th'. In her interview with Jimmy Fallon she said there would be three '20ths' until the 'big thing'. Reading between the lines it looks like we can expect Ariana's new album in around three month's time.
