Love Island's Dr. Alex thanks fans for support after devastating loss of his younger brother
Alex announced the tragic news on Instagram
Love Island's Dr. Alex George has taken to his Instagram Stories after announcing the devastating news that his younger brother has passed away. The 30-year-old, who found fame on the show in 2018, has thanked fans for their support after posting about the tragic death of his brother Llŷr.
He wrote, 'These are the hardest times I could ever have imagined. The kindness and love our family has received has been incredible and I am so grateful. In the darkest times we must pick ourselves up, find strength and be there for our family and friends. That is exactly what I will do.'
This comes after Alex posted on Friday about the tragic news, sharing a wonderful photo with his brother along with the caption, 'I can’t believe I am actually writing this post. I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health. I love you so much Llŷr. The kindest and most caring soul.
'I was so proud of you starting medical school next month, you would have been the most incredible doctor. We are hurting so bad. No words can explain. As a family we are devastated. We love you and miss you so much. Please rest in peace x Our boy ♥️.'
Many of Alex's fellow Love Island co-stars wrote messages of support on the post. Rosie Williams commented, 'Oh no Alex! This is so awful. I’m so so sorry from the bottom of my heart. Sending you all the love in the world. Thinking of you and your family through this terrible time. 💔'
Wes Nelson wrote, 'So sorry to hear this Alex! Stay strong I love you mate!' and Alexandra Cane added, 'I’m so sorry Alex. My deepest condolences are with you and your family,' whilst Charlie Brake wrote, 'So, so sorry mate. Here if you need anything. Devastating.'
Samira Mighty commented, 'Stay strong 💕,' and Jack Fincham wrote, 'Love you mate always on the end of the phone,' as the official ITV 2 Instagram page commented, 'So sorry for your loss, Alex. Sending love to you and your family x.'
Our thoughts are with Alex and his family at this time.
