Blossoms announce brand new album recorded in isolation
It's all been recorded remotely
Last updated 3rd Mar 2021
Blossoms have announced that they're putting their sudden bout of free time to good use, and have recorded a new album totally in isolation. The band - made up of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock - have been working hard from their respective homes during the lockdown.
The album, entitled 'Blossoms In Isolation', will feature reworked versions of their own songs, along with a few covers - including 'Lost' by Frank Ocean, which has been released as the first single from the record.
Although the release date and full track listing is yet to be announced, the album will feature covers of The Coral’s 'Dreaming Of You', in collaboration with James Skelly, and Tame Impala’s 'The Less I Know The Better' with Miles Kane.
They've also reworked their own songs 'My Swimming Brain', 'There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)' and 'If You Think This Is Real Life' amongst others which will be announced soon.
The band uploaded their cover of 'Lost' earlier today on Instagram, writing, 'We'll be releasing all of our isolation covers over the next few weeks which will make up our 'Blossoms In Isolation' album also available later in the year on CD/Vinyl.'
Fans were loving the performance, with the video racking up almost 30,000 views in the first eight hours. Many took to the comments to share their love for the cover, as one wrote, 'You’re literally doing all my fave covers', as another added, 'You have given us so much pleasure with these. Good old Stockport boys.. well done!'
