Shania Twain reveals the inspiration behind her song 'Dirty Rosie'

Shania Twain released her new song 'Dirty Rosie' on 13th May 2026, ahead of the series of gigs coming up in London this summer, where she is Harry Styles' special guest.

On the same day that the song arrived, the singer also released the lyric video, which featured footage driving through mountains and forests, in an old truck, as the lyrics appear across the screen. Now, a week ahead of her gigs supporting Harry Styles, the singer has revealed the inspiration behind the name of her latest single.

What is the inspiration behind the song?

In an interview with Hits Radio, Shania revealed that Dirty Rosie isn't a person, but a truck! The singer told Hits Radio Breakfast: "This is a reflection on my first years driving, like behind the wheel. I was 10 and we drove the dirt roads because we're working in the woods. We did a lot of lumberjack kind of work, OK?

"Dirty trucks were the only kind of trucks we had and they were always old and rickety and we could not afford new ones and nobody shines their truck. I remember my dad's truck, it was a red truck, but it faded, of course, to a rosie colour."

The singer continued: "I thought, the only kind of truck that I've ever driven was a Dirty Rosie truck. Yeah, it's all about my first days as a child driver."

At present there isn't a music video, but at 5pm on Wednesday 13th May, Shania premiered the lyric video on YouTube.

What does the artwork look like?

When Shania announced the new song, she also shared the artwork, writing: 'You can drive a hummer, in the summer. You can EVEN drive the ladies, in my mercedes. BUT you can’t drive my truck 💗 New song Dirty Rosie coming this Wednesday.'

When is Shania on tour in the UK?

Shania has been announced as Harry Styles' special guest, when he is on his 'Together Together Tour' this summer. The singer will be supporting Harry on all 12 of his Wembley dates.

Speaking to Hits Radio, Shania revealed: "Harry DID personally invite me (to be his special guest), and I feel like this is the invitation of my lifetime.

"It is such a compliment. He's at the top of the world and he doesn't need any support from any other artists. But I just feel very personally welcomed by him, and I know he really means it."
