Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' is up for record of the year

It's the beginning of award season and with that, the announcement of the annual GRAMMY nominations has caused much excitement in the country music world, with Lil Nas X receiving a massive six nominations this year.
Lil Nas X's hit song 'Old Town Road' is up for record and music video of the year, with his album '7' also up for album of the year. Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus are also nominated for best pop duo/group performance, for their performance of the ever popular song.
Billy Ray Cyrus took to Twitter to celebrate his nomination saying, 'Extremely honored and grateful for all the love #OTR got today and want to give a huge shoutout to @LilNasX on his 6 nominations! @RecordingAcad #GRAMMYs'. sic
Along with Lil Nas X's six nominations, Lizzo has eight and Billie Eilish has six. Other country stars with nominations this year include, Tanya Tucker, Ashley McBryde, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and Dan + Shay, who are all up for best country song, and Chris Stapleton has been nominated for best song written for visual media, for his song from Toy Story 4, 'The Ballad Of The Lonesome Cowboy'.
Dolly Parton is also up against Chris Stapleton for her song 'Girl In The Movies', with Linda Perry, a track from Dumplin.
The GRAMMYs will take place in Los Angeles in January 2020, hosted for the second year in a row by Alicia Keys. This will make her the third woman and the first female musician to host the show twice.
